In July of 2017, three individual meth labs were discovered on the same property by local authorities. Six suspects were arrested and charged with various crimes. These crimes include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, manufacturing and selling of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In February of 2017, a similar incident occurred, which involved two men in a mobile home located near the Halifax River. The suspects appeared to be operating the meth lab out of the recreational vehicle, and were reported to police via an anonymous tip.
